Indian Ocean 2014

For the crew and supporters alike, this certainly was an expedition full of challenges both physically and mentally! Avalon slipped her moorings at Batavia Marina, Geraldton on 11th June and made landfall at Victoria Port, Mahe, Seychelles on August 7, 2014 at 14:58 GMT achieving ocean rowing records for the fastest row across the Indian Ocean (average speed 2.65 knots) and the longest distance rowed by a team in the Indian Ocean. The Indian Ocean threw her worst weather and currents to test the boat and crew to their extremes on this expedition.

Ocean Rowing boat 'Avalon' was built by ROSSITER's in Christchurch, Dorset, UK.
